The Gang at The Blue Moon...

MARGARET DELAFOSSE: I WAS TOO YOUNG FOR THE BLUE MOON BUT I CAN CERTAINLY REMEMBER MY OLDEST SISTER GETTING TO GO AND COMING BACK AND TELLING US ALL ABOUT IT ..ALL I COULD PICTURE WAS A BIG BLUE MOON HANGING OVER.  THATS HOW I PICTURED IT.  I WAS PROBABLY 5 OR 6 ....BUT IT WAS LIKE A FAIRY TALE HEARING ABOUT IT.

Glynn Kohler: I don't remember ever being in the building but I do remember the night the Blue Moon burned.  We were on our way home form Alexandria and we began seeing a glow in the sky somewhere north of Chenneyville.  We all had our guess as to what was burning and nobody considered that it might be the Blue Moon.

It seems that the mirrored ball that hung over the dance floor made its way to the Dub Davis skating rink - which I think also burned - and was hanging over the center of the rink.

Lester RabalaisAh yes the memories of the dances at the Blue moon in the Early to Mid Fifties. If I remember correctly, there was a chain smoking doctors nurse who sold the tickets and was a referee, and several times I was taken off the dance floor with my partner, because we were accused of doing the "Dirty Bop", instead of just Jitterbugging. It was the best dance floor around, except for one at a night club in Ville Platte if I remember correctly.  Class of 56

Dee(Maddox) Hanagriff:  I have been to the "Blue Moon" many times..now let me think.......in the 1950's......did a lot    of dancing there............the food was great!  That was a long time ago, but it sure was    the "good ole days" .........  I remember   my friend named Elouise......I think her last name    was  Bundrick,,,,,,,,,,,I wonder where she is now............    Well, take care     Hana 2020
